Preamble
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern the use of ExoHost virtual private servers (VPS) and related services. Registering in the control panel constitutes full acceptance of these Terms.
This is a translation for convenience. In case of any discrepancy the Russian text prevails.
1. Technical rules and resources
1.1. Resource allocation. The customer receives the guaranteed system resources (CPU, RAM, SSD/NVMe) of their chosen plan.
1.2. Overselling. ExoHost guarantees that the critical components — RAM and storage — are not oversold.
1.3. Network load. Sustained, abnormally high load on the network port that degrades service for other customers on the same node is not permitted.
2. Acceptable use policy (AUP)
The customer is fully liable for the content hosted on the VPS and for anything done from their server.
Spam. Sending unsolicited bulk mail. Port 25 (SMTP) is closed by default on all new servers.
Malware. Hosting, storing or distributing viruses, trojans, phishing pages and network scanners.
Attacks. Organising, taking part in or assisting DDoS/DoS attacks, password brute-forcing and intrusion into third-party systems.
Mining. Cryptocurrency mining (Chia, Monero and the like) that creates peak load on CPU or disks, without written agreement from the administration.
Prohibited content. Child sexual abuse material, incitement to violence, extremist material and anything else unlawful in the country where the server is located.
Copyright infringement. Torrent trackers, warez portals and unlicensed software (DMCA complaints).
3. Abuse handling
3.1. Complaints. On receiving an abuse complaint from rights holders or datacentres, ExoHost sends a notice to the customer’s control panel.
3.2. Time to remedy. The customer must remedy the violation within 12 hours of that notice being sent.
3.3. Suspension. For critical violations (DDoS, phishing, malware distribution) ExoHost may suspend the VPS immediately, pending investigation.
4. Support
4.1. Channels. Support is provided through the ticket system in the control panel.
4.2. Hours. Tickets are accepted around the clock (24/7). Replies typically take between 15 minutes and 2 hours depending on priority.
4.3. Scope. Services are unmanaged. Support is responsible for the availability of the hardware, the network and the control panel. Configuring software inside the VPS (Nginx, Docker, databases) is the customer’s own work.
5. Backups and data
5.1. Responsibility. The customer sets up and monitors their own backups.
5.2. Failures. ExoHost is not liable for data loss caused by the customer’s actions, by software faults or by hardware failure, unless a scheduled backup service was purchased separately.
6. Changes and sanctions
6.1. Changes take effect as soon as they are published on the ExoHost site.
6.2. On repeated violation of these Terms, ExoHost may terminate the contract unilaterally without refunding unused funds.
